TS2TSJ25M3の中身とベンチマーク

PS3のバックアップ用に急遽1TB以上のUSBなHDDが必要になった。手持ちのSATA-USB変換器とHDDの組み合わせは、ことごとくPS3で認識されなかったのだよ…。

今更外付けHDDに金掛けたくないなぁと思いつつ販売サイトを物色してると、じゃんぱらでTranscend StoreJet 25M3 TS2TSJ25M3の中古品が2980円だったので即購入。傷あり、USBケーブルなし、本体のみということで状態は期待できなかったが、USB 3.0で2TBのポータブルHDDがその値段なら、多少の瑕疵を差し引いても割安だろう。まぁ実物はそこまで悪くなかったんですけど。

能書きはこれくらいにして、CrystallDiskInfoの結果はこちら。

製品は2018年製造の個体で、中身はご覧のとおりSeagate ST2000LM007-1R8174だった。使用時間も少ないし大当たりだ。

CrystalDiskMarkの結果は以下の通り。64MBと1GBで計測してみた。

64MBの方はキャッシュが効いてるのか、ランダム4Kがそれなりの結果となっている。それ以外は特筆すべき点はないかな。

Transcend TS32GMTS400 32GBのベンチマーク

ルータ用にと思って買った小型PCに、トランセンドのM.2 Type 2242なSSD MTS400シリーズの32GB、T32GMTS400が入っていたのでベンチなんぞを取ってみる。公式サイトによると、32GB版のスペックは読み込み200MB/s、書き込み40MB/s、90TBWの2DWPD(3年)となっている。

ディスクの状態は↓こんな感じ。新品で買ったPCの割に電源投入回数と書き込み量が多いような…。

カタログスペック以上の速度は出ているが、最初期のコンシューマ向けSSDと比べても遅めですな…。128GB版でも書き込み160MB/s程度っぽいので、このシリーズはこんなものなのだろう。

Transcend TS256GUSD300S-Aのベンチマーク

Nintendo Switch用にトランセンドのmicroSDXC TS256GUSD300S-Aを買った。税込み4580円。シリアル番号で保証期間が表示されたので正規品だと思われる。

Switchで使う前にCheck Flashで喝入れ、SD Formatterで上書きフォーマットし、CrystalDiskMarkでベンチしてみた。USB 3.0接続のカードリーダーでの結果でござる。

値段なりの順当な結果かなと。ついでにSD Card Formatterでの初期化結果は↓こんな感じだった。

ABLENET VPS V1のHDDプラン/SSDプランのベンチマーク

ABLENETのVPS V1プランでストレージをHDDからSSDに契約変更した。HDDプランとSSDプランでは収容先が異なるようで、変更時はデータ全削除&IPアドレスが変わる点は注意が必要。それぞれのプランでUnix Benchを取ってみた。

なお、HDDプランは今から1年ほど前(2017年12月頃)に契約したサーバである。

今回割り当てられたサーバは旧サーバより1世代新しく、また、まだあまり人がいないのか実に4倍以上の性能アップとなった。portsのビルド速度なんかは目に見えて速い(これはSSDの影響が大きいだろうけど)。半年後あたりに再度ベンチしてみたい。

VMware Fusion 6 Professionalにしてみた

VMware Fusion 6では最大16CPUに対応したとの事なので、VMware Fusion 4からアップグレードした。

これでうちの12コアMac Proで動画のエンコが捗る。

折角なのでx264 HD Benchmark 5.0.1でベンチマークしてみた。

マシンMac Pro (Early 2009)
CPUXeon L5640 (2.26GHz/6コア) × 2個
メモリDDR3-1333 ECC 4GB × 8 = 32GB (1066MHz動作)
OSOS X v10.8.5

仮想マシンはVMware Fusion 4ではCPU8個、VMware Fusion 6では8個と16個、メモリは全て8GBを割り当て。OSはBootCampパーティションのWindows 7 SP1で、環境は一緒。

同一条件で比べると、6の方が僅かに性能が良いようだ。16コア(と言っても物理12コア+論理4コアだけど)でもう少し伸びるかなーと思ったけど、それほどでもなかった。まぁ、OS X側にもリソース持ってかれてるからこんなものか。
